Pershore 13pts, Redditch 7
PERSHORE overcame Redditch in their drive for promotion far more comfortably than the score suggests.
Pershore took complete control in the first half. A scrum 15 metres out saw Sid Hirons make a fine break down the blindside and popped the ball to Steve Holmes to score. Robin Haines failed with the conversion.
Haines had an off day with the boot, missing five kicks at goal, but had success with one.
Sustained forward pick up and driving by the forwards decimated the Redditch defence and Jem Richardson cut through a gap to touchdown and make it 13-0 at half time.
The second half was much the same with Pershore dominating for long periods but unable to convert pressure into points.
To Redditch's credit, as they are fighting relegation, they didn't capitulate and were rewarded with a late converted try.
Pershore must learn to convert territorial and possession advantage into points with only two crucial league games left.
