THERE is disappointment in Salford Priors after the memorial hall committee was told it would have to wait even longer to hear if it had succeeded in its second bid for National Lottery money.
The committee wants £300,000 to carry out desperately needed repairs and refurbishments to the hall.
It originally applied for £600,000 but this was rejected after representatives from the National Lottery Charities Board said it was too large an amount.
The committee was told it would hear if it had been successful with its second bid at the end of March - but it has now learned that a decision will not be made until June or July.
Committee secretary Don Bailey said: "We had a grants officer come and look around and ask questions and it was a very positive meeting. He then had to report back to the board.
"But there are still months to wait until we know whether we have been successful.
"Now it is just a matter of sitting and waiting with our fingers crossed that there will be good news eventually."
