A "BRILLIANT" scheme to reintegrate disruptive pupils has been welcomed by Wyre Forest MP David Lock.
He has officially opened a new learning support unit at Birchen Coppice Middle School. MP David Lock helps launch the learning unit with Stuart Johnstone, the teacher running it, and pupils Joe Smith and Danny Gorman, who have benefited from the scheme.
The £100,000 facility, set up in a refurbished classroom, is the base for nine pupils who would otherwise be facing permanent exclusion due to behaviour problems.
Mr Lock said: "It's a brilliant scheme. Excluding children from the class when they're disruptive is vital for the benefit of the other children.
"It's equally important having somewhere where those children can stay in school so they have to keep coming and continue their education."
The school hopes to eventually become a centre of excellence for behaviour management.
