JAN Molby will deny a charge of bringing the game into disrepute at an FA hearing later this month - but he has reason to be happy with on-field events.

Kidderminster Harriers notched their first win in nine games at the weekend, beating Shrewsbury 3-1 in front of a healthy crowd to stave off the relegation threat.

Harriers, in 14th position, head to former Conference rivals Macclesfield on Saturday with new-found confidence.

But on April 24, manager Molby must turn his attention to a personal hearing for the FA charge.

He was sent from the dug-out during February's defeat by Cardiff for alleged words said to the fourth official.

Looking ahead to Macclesfield, Molby said: "There is no reason why we shouldn't improve on the Shrewsbury performance with that little bit of added confidence.

"The finishing has to be better. If we had taken our chances, we could have had five or six goals - you cannot expect that many in every game.

"But the players gave everything and grew as the game went on. It has been a long time since they were last two goals in-front."

Macclesfield, who lost 2-1 at Aggborough in December, have won their last two home games but are ruling out a play-off finish.

Molby added: "They're well organised and have a couple of players, Lee Glover and Kevin Keen, who have played at the highest level. They are the ones we need to watch."

Craig Hinton is set to stay in midfield after his surprise switch on Saturday with Parfait Medou-Otye likely to replace Scott Stamps at left-back.

Stamps has a two-match suspension after his red card at Exeter.

Molby, who is looking for 10 points from the final six games, believes Hinton can be a better midfielder than centre-half despite his consistent displays in the latter position this season.
