LAMB & FLAG 4, WEST MALVERN 1
West Malvern's poor away form continued. Once again unable to field a regular side, they introduced two 16 year old debutantes in Edward Wray and Allie Fitch.
The West went a goal down after 15 minutes when a harmless cross into the goal mouth and a mistake by Steve Newman allowed the ball to drop out of his hands into the net.
West conceded a second goal before half time from a debateable penalty from a corner.
With a lot of pushing going on in the box the referee deemed that a West Malvern defender had put his foot out to trip somebody. Although Stevie Newman got his hands to the ball he could not stop the spot kick.
The second half followed a similar pattern to the first with the ball spending more time in the air than on the ground.
Lamb & Flag went farther ahead when a long ball caught the defence flat footed and the centre forward poked the ball home.
West pulled a goal back with a brilliant individual effort from Will Hardy beating three men in the box to score. The home side completed the scoring with two minutes to go.
On Saturday the West are at home to Portobello their first home fixture for five weeks. Players report 2.15pm at the dressing room or contact the manager if not available.
