Red Lion Falcons made heavy work of what should have been an easy game.
Southside played much the better football for most of the first half but with 20 minutes on the clock a crossed ball from Jeremy Williams found John Rose in midfield who lobbed the ball over the Southside defence for Shaun Taylor to run on to and score.
Southside came back even more determined and five minutes later a rare defensive era by Jon Hale allowed the home side to get an equaliser.
Ten minutes before half time Paul Rowe lobbed a ball over the top of the home defence for Taylor and again his pace was to much for the home team who could only watch as the ball shot passed the keeper into the top corner.
Falcons third goal came from a corner when after a goal mouth scramble defender Alan Williams managed to get the ball into the net.
This week the Falcons entertain second place St Domingos.
