ON Palm Sunday there will be a United Service at St Peter's, Powick, at 11am (no service at St James'). There will also be a retiring collection for the Addington Fund which aids farmers who are experiencing problems as a result of the foot and mouth outbreak, in loss of earnings and whose livelihoods are threatened.
On Monday, April 9, a morning of Easter activities for children is planned at St James' Church from 10am. There will be games, video, eggs and fun. For further details contact the vicar, Rev David Nichol 01905 830270.
St James' Church will be decorated for Easter on Saturday, April 14, from 10am. Anyone who would like to make a donation towards Easter lilies, in memory of a loved one, is asked to contact Jean Lean on (01886) 832269. The Easter Day Communion Service will be held at 9.30am.
An evening of traditional Irish music played live by Reel Bones will be held at Callow End Village Hall on Saturday, April 21, from 8pm. A bar will be available. Tickets at £3.50 are available from The Pound Store or The Old Bush or hall committee members; the event is in aid of hall funds.

The Powick and Callow End branch of the Royal British Legion holds its next meeting on Tuesday, April 10, at 8.15pm. This year the Legion celebrates 80 years and events are planned throughout the year. A barbecue will be held at The Old Bush on Easter Monday, April 16, from 6.30pm. All are welcome.
