SOME of the classiest musicians around will be appearing in Malvern with the return of Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings.
The band is embarking on a major tour next month, kicking off with a show at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival.
On Thursday, May 24, they are playing at Malvern Theatres, where they performed last year to great acclaim.
The Rhythm Kings will be performing from their fourth album, Double Bill, which combines soulful cover versions with six original songs.
The current incarnation of the Rhythm Kings involves Albert Lee, Martin Taylor and Georgie Fame, not forgetting Bill himself, who is going back to his original love of jazz and blues. Beverley Keete is on vocals, embracing the swinging tunes with panache.
"The whole idea behind the band was to play music we love," says Bill. "It's also great to work with people I've known for many years.
Tickets are £22 and £24, from the box office on 01684 892277.
