EVESHAM United boss Phil Mullen has outlined his determination to win the Dr Martens League Western Division title -- even though they are not going for promotion.
Third-placed Robins, who entertain Cirencester Town tomorrow (3pm), have decided not to apply for Premier Division soccer due to the estimated £30,000 required to bring Common Road up to scratch.
But Mullen says a good finish this season will build confidence to have another successful campaign next time round -- by which time they hope to have planning permission for a new ground.
Speaking after last night's Worcestershire Senior Cup semi-final victory at Worcester City, Mullen said: "Our first priority is the league, and we still think we have a good chance of winning it.
"The lads have taken it on the chin -- they are good professionals. We have all accepted it and our aim will be to keep on improving if we can, and it will be nice to think that if we are in the same position this time next year, we can go forward."
The Robins boss has strikers Stuart Payne and Andy Hodgetts available again after they were cup-tied last night, while new signings Matt Beard and Andy Biddle also come into contention.
Mullen is also hopeful that defender Jay Powell will shake off a hand injury sustained last night.
