Presentations have been made by Malvern Table Tennis League to those who took part in the Lamberts & Wade sponsored Ladder League.
This initiative was introduced a number of years ago to promote the competitive skills and as a measure for improved performance and is extremely popular with participants. During the 18-week season more than 40 Juniors and Cadets have been involved with Certificates of Achievement being awarded to the top 32 players.
The semi-final was contested between regional cadet squad member Joe Higgs and James Clarke with Joe securing victory 21-19 in the third game.
The final between Joe and David Smith was of an extremely high standard with David dominating the first game with his defensive/blocking style. The tide turned in the second game which Joe won 21-8 mainly due to his forcing top spin game. The third game saw Joe taken an early lead but a tenacious performance from David ensured he was the eventual winner 21-17.
Two additional awards were presented by the League President Graham Collier to the most improved cadet and junior players of the season. These awards were won by Joe Higgs and David Smith respectively.
