OBJECTORS unhappy at plans for stables in Lower Broadheath near Worcester claim they will suffer the stink of horse manure.
An application has been lodged with Malvern Hills District Council for an agricultural livestock building to be converted to stables at Eastbury Manor, Martley Road.
Among the reasons for refusal cited by opponents were the claims the stables would "cause smells from the horse muck" and property values would drop.
A planning report noted that the proposed livery stables were "in closer proximity to residential accommodation than this department would normally wish to sanction".
But the officer said the buildings had been used to house cattle previously and so the complaint about manure was difficult to justify. She recommended approval.
Malvern Hills district councillors will make up their minds on Wednesday.
