HENRY Tun can follow in the hoofprints of his half-brother and land his first success at Southwell tomorrow, when he competes in the Bananas For Sale Handicap, over five furlongs.
The son of Chaddleworth is out of sprint handicapper B Grade, who has already produced Tom Tun, the winner of a host of similar events, both on the turf and on all-weather surfaces.
Tom Tun was something of a late developer and Henry Tun has been the same, not making much of an impact on the racecourse so far.
But there were distinct signs that Julie Craze's charge was going the right way on his last start at Southwell, when only beaten off close home over six furlongs.
This drop back to the minimum trip could well induce further progress and he is fancied to run well at a bid price.
Battle Warning remains a step ahead of the handicapper and can complete his hat-trick in the Happy Birthday Stan Mellor Handicap.
Micky Hammond's gelding bolted up over two miles on his last outing and he is much improved since stepping up in distance of late.
A longer trip has obviously been the making of him as he won in similar fashion over a mile and three-quarters on his previous run.
That was his first ever success and came after he had been amateur ridden in his four races previously.
He looks to be still some way ahead of the handicapper and can land the spoils again.
China Castle is not as good as he was, but 11 furlongs at Southwell is probably his best trip and he will always be a force to be reckoned with at the lowly level of the Larry The Lobster Claiming Stakes.
Three Farthings appears best caught fresh and Jim Old's charge looks the best bet on Exeter's jumping card.
After a nine-month absence, he was a fine fourth to Manx Magic in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton last time out and has been given a 47-day break since to freshen him back up.
He is back over the bigger obstacles here in the Percy Browne Challenge Trophy Chase but jumped them well enough when winning at Towcester last May and heavy conditions should be no problem judged on his hurdles form.
Inducement catches the eye in his division of the Stevenstone Novices' Hurdle.
Amanda Perrett's charge acted on soft ground and had some useful form on the Flat.
He has taken well to the jumping game and can beat a modest-looking bunch.
