6 ON the foot-and-mouth map in Saturday's Evening News, there appeared only two isolated cases in the Pershore area.

Then we read of the plan to burn/bury animals on Throckmorton aerodrome. My heart bleeds for the farmers and others in the area.

Our farm was the second to be infected by foot-and-mouth in 1967 and, although we finished farming in 1986, we still feel very close to the farming community.

This government is the most stupid I have ever come across and have absolutely no understanding of the situation.

We cannot understand why the unaffected animals which are being killed are not being used for meat.

All this burning and burying of good meat is going to make for big shortage in the future which will lead to more importing of foreign meat which could add to further health problems.
