A 19-YEAR-OLD woman suffered a broken nose, black eye and facial injuries after two men attacked her in Redditch town centre, writes Chief Reporter Becky Procter.
The serious, and apparently unprovoked, assault happened in Alcester Street at about 11.30pm on Friday, March 30.
The victim was walking when two men assaulted her for no reason, punching her several times in the head and body.
Police said the teenager fell backwards over a small low wall and received injuries to her face, including a broken nose, and cuts and grazes to her hip, caused after she fell.
Pc John Pitman, of Redditch police, said: "This was a nasty assault that appears to be for no reason, which has left the girl very upset and shocked.
"The police believe there were several people moving about the area at the time and would appeal to anyone who witnessed the assault or who saw the two men in the area at the time to contact Redditch police."
One offender was described as white, aged between 21 and 22, 5ft8ins tall with a slim build and dark hair brushed forward.
He was wearing a beige coloured coat.
The second offender was described as white, aged between 22 and 23, 5ft6ins-5ft7ins tall with a stocky build and blond hair cut in a 'curtains' style to eye level.
Both men ran from the scene.
