GUIDES from across the town fused their talents and raised more than £1,000.

Packed audiences flocked to Droitwich Spa High School, in Briar Mill, at the weekend to see their money spinning variety show. Around 180 girls from Droitwich Division Guide Association set the stage alight with dancing, singing and comedy.

The youngsters had been rehearsing since February and held three performances.

Money collected will boost their latest project. They want to rebuild their headquarters, in Acre Lane.

The group needs £50,000 for the scheme and so far there is around £3,000 in the kitty.

Division commissioner Rosemary O'Grady said: "All our girls had fantastic fun putting the show together.

"The response from the audience was very pleasing.

"So much work goes into staging these shows that we only manage to produce them every few years. This was our biggest and best to date."
