BROMSGROVE Rovers couldn't have asked for a tougher Easter weekend.
The new-look Greens face Phil Mullen's impressive Evesham United outfit on Saturday, a match sponsored by the Bromsgrove Advertiser/Messenger.
Then on Easter Monday, Rovers travel to Rob Smith's Redditch United (3pm KO) to avenge an embarrassing 4-0 home defeat on Boxing Day.
But Rovers director of football Steve Daniels is not worried about the daunting task ahead. On the contrary, Daniels is licking his lips at the prospect of proving his men are up to the challenge.
The Greens have eight players under 20 and no-one -- apart from the injured Neil Cartwright -- over the age of 24.
But Daniels is well aware his young side will be tested against their Dr Martens League Western Division rivals.
Daniels said: "Evesham and Redditch are both good sides but we've got some good players too. It will be a nice test for us to see how we cope.
"I've got a full-strength squad to choose from and they're raring to go. Hopefully we'll have a big crowd against Evesham to cheer the lads on."
Evesham have already decided that even if they finish in the top two this season, they won't take their place in the Dr Martens League Premier Division.
The Robins' Common Road ground, where Bromsgrove drew 3-3 at on New Year's Day, does not meet the criteria for Premier Division football.
NEW GROUND
With the prospect of a new ground on the horizon, Evesham decided the £50,000 needed to complete improvements would be better spent on their planned new home at Cheltenham Road on the outskirts of the town.
But Phil Mullen is still desperate for his side to win the league. He signed Rovers duo Joe Beard and Andy Biddle last month in a bid to boost his title charge.
And he sees the match with lowly Greens as three points there for the taking -- as will Redditch manager Rob Smith.
The Reds' boss will be looking for a repeat of his sides performance at the Victoria Ground earlier this season, where United's fans were by far the most vocal of any away supporters this season.
But Daniels is confident that will not happen again. "I would love to get a big crowd down to the Valley Stadium and make the same noise," he said.
"I want our fans to come out in numbers and turn the Redditch match into a home game for us.
"Let's out-shout them -- we're a different team now with different players and it's a different date. I'm sure we'll go there with confidence. I'm very confident."
