AROUND 150 cattle have been slaughtered at a Bromsgrove farm as foot and mouth continues its hold on the farming community throughout the district.
The herd at Foxwalks Farm, in Grafton Lane, was culled last Sunday, April 8, because the site had been dubbed 'a dangerous farm' by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAFF).
This means the farm has been in some form of contact with immediate neighbouring infected premises.
The ward councillor on Bromsgrove District Council, Dr Elizabeth Shaw (Con, Stoney Hill), lives near the farm and said she was "devastated" by the news.
She urged residents out walking to keep their dogs on leads after spotting owners letting their pets run free.
