AN angry councillor has hit out at what he calls "an accident waiting to happen" in Charford Road.
Bromsgrove district councillor Peter McDonald (Lab, Uffdown and Waseley), told the Advertiser/Messenger he was horrified to discover the parking dangers near Charford's South Bromsgrove High School which has around 1,300 pupils.
Residents, living in homes opposite the school, park on the roadside and it gets extremely busy during the school run.
He said: "It is an accident waiting to happen and action needs to be taken."
Cllr McDonald has met headteacher Phil McTa-gue to discuss the issue.
He is also going to ask Bromsgrove District Council to create parking bays and for Worcestershire Highways Partnership to provide a pedestrian crossing.
Partnership manager Jon Fraser said: "I have received a request from Cllr McDonald about the pedestrian crossing and I am looking into it."
A Bromsgrove District Council spokesman said: "A request has been received and a report will be put to the cabinet."
6 REQUEST: Partnership manager Jon Fraser.
