WORCESTERSHIRE County Council's environmental services department has vowed not to rest on its laurels after being presented with the prestigious Investors in People award.
Hereford and Worcester Chamber of Commerce presented the award to the director of environmental services Richard Wigginton after assessing the department.
The council was judged on its commitment to staff training, continuous professional development and communication with employees, all measured against a national standard.
Mr Wigginton said he was determined to continue improving as the evaluation also highlighted opportunities to develop the programme.
"Achieving Investors in People is just reward for a lot of hard work by staff throughout the directorate," he said.
"It is an independent measure of our ongoing commitment to staff training and development to the benefit of the individual, the organisation and, most importantly, those who use our services."
