FIRMS in Worcestershire and Herefordshire could benefit from an energy tax introduced at the start of April.
The Climate Change Levy has been introduced to help the UK meet its targets for reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, in particular carbon dioxide.
"It provides an ideal opportunity for organisations to examine how much energy they currently use and to look at cost-effective measures for improving their efficiency," said Wychavon District Council's sustainability co-ordinator, Cherrie Mansfield.
"Even if your bill goes up there are steps that you can take," she added.
"Studies show most organisations can reduce energy bills by up to 20 per cent."
