ONE of the district's top tourist attractions is preparing to show there is still life in the countryside when it opens on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from 11am to 5pm.
Castle spokesman Francesca Chick said: "As there are no livestock in the grounds and all animals in bordering fields have been moved to other areas, Eastnor Castle is able to comply with MAFF guidelines and is keen to welcome visitors."
However, Eastnor Deer Park will remain closed.
On the castle site itself, the new souvenir shop will be open. This has been converted from a redundant outbuilding with the help of European funding.
Wild daffodils and primroses will also be flowering in the arboretum and their will be display of Victorian photography. An abandoned turret bedroom, which is awaiting restoration, will also be on show.
