FEARS that Chaddesley Corbett's cricket season could be delayed by the foot and mouth crisis have been blown out of the water.
Their Longmore ground is open and preparations are underway.
The season begins on Sunday with a friendly against Kidderminster at Chester Road.
And the Worcestershire County League campaign starts the following Saturday with the first team travelling to Kington.
Chaddesley will field three sides on a Saturday with the thirds on Longmore's second square.
On Sundays, Chaddesley will compete in Berry League Division One West and also take part in the National Village Knockout.
Their best run in the competition was in 1985 when they fell in the last four. As recently as 1997, they reached the last eight.
Chaddesley have a bye into the second round against Holt and Grimley on May 13.
During the indoor season, Chaddesley qualified for the county finals for the first time under new captain Matt Boden.
New players are welcome - call Boden on 01562 777388 or second-team captain Mark Hingley on 01562 777865.
