FLOODING caused major damage to gardens and driveways in Redditch last week.
An overflowing storm drain in Atherstone Close, Matchborough is wrecking residents' gardens and causing damage to other private property.
Residents are already putting in claims for insurance because of the flooding.
Resident Jeff Adams said: "The drain has been overflowing for around two years now since January 1999 and every time there's some rainfall for a length of time the drain seems to overflow and cause damage.
"It is a health hazard. If they take the manhole cover off when repairing it people could be at serious risk of falling into it."
A Redditch Borough Council spokesman said: "We are aware of the problems with rain causing damage and affecting gardens.
"The council is talking to residents about the situation which should be sorted out in the next couple of months."
