THERE was delight for Wyre Forest Gymnastics School's Chelsea Hodges in a regional competition.

Hodges came home from Highgate, Birmingham, with the bronze medal for In-age grade four at West Midland British Development Plan In and Out of Age Championships.

Over two days, 285 gymnasts competed on five pieces of apparatus - vault, bars, beam, floor and range and conditioning.

A score of 35 was needed to pass and over 40 for a distinction.

Wyre Forest results, In age grade six (all aged eight): Abigail Yapp 40.925, Danielle Perrins 39.25, Jade Hooper 38.1, Elizabeth Field 35.8.

Out of age grade six (aged nine and over): Caris Butler 41.7, Laura Wharton 38.725, Jennifer Whitmore 37.975, Grace Lawton 36.925.

In age grade five (aged nine): Gemma Beddows 40.475, Aoife Carey-Jenkins 39.175, Bethaney Barrie 35.05.

Out of age grade five (over nine): Jessica Gwilliam 40.2, Laura Lancett 39.15, Emi Lambert 37.775, Charlotte Crowley 37.775.

In age grade four (10): Chelsea Hodges 41.75 (bronze), Katie Hodson 41.45, Alice Pretty 40.5.

Out of age grade four (over 10): Emily Hill 41.5, Katie Savage 40.55, Coral Richards 39.7, Michaela Wilkins 39.25.

Wyre Forest's Adam Sinnett took a silver medal at the West Midland Recreational Floor and Vault finals.

Sinnett managed a total of 17.9 in the U-13 boys team in the competition at Stoke.

The open girls finished fourth and fifth, just missing out on a team bronze and an individual third place for Rachel Fletcher.

The U-9 girls teams finished 18th, the U-11s 22nd and the U-13s 17th.

Meanwhile, the U-9 boys fielded two teams who finished in seventh and eighth places, with Eric Sinnett scoring 9.6 on the floor.

The U-11 boys managed sixth place, while the U-15s came 11th and 17th against some extremely strong clubs.
