PLANS to build a mini golf course and sports pitches in Stourport have been put on hold while councillors decide if the site is suitable.
The bid from Wyre Forest Golf Club to build on land adjacent to Stourport Sports Club off Minster Road has been deferred to allow planning councillors to make a site visit.
Members of Wyre Forest District Council planning (development control) committee decided on Tuesday they were unsure whether parts of the land, a former county council landfill site, are suitable for raising to create the golf holes.
Planning officers have recommended approval for the application.
Case officer Mike Parker said it would "not undermine or weaken" the land, which is part of the Green Belt area between Stourport and Kidderminster.
