ASTWOOD Bank Carnival has been called off until the end of September due to the foot and mouth crisis.
And some of the associated events, including a fun run, will also move to September as a precaution.
The carnival committee met on Thursday to make a final decision on whether the May 19 event would go ahead.
Publicity officer Graeme Jones said: "The main event will definitely be postponed until September.
"No date has been fixed since various arrangements need to be agreed before a date is finalised, although it is likely it will be on either the third or fourth Saturday."
Mr Jones also said two events were set to take place in May - a race night scheduled for May 17 and a 1940s music night on May 18 at Ridgeway Middle School, Evesham Road.
The news of Astwood Bank Carnival's postponement follows the announcement that Redditch Carnival, which was to be held on September 15, has been scrapped.
Reasons include the town centre redevelopment and relocated market, which would make organising the event difficult.
But Wythall Carnival is set to go ahead in August, providing MAFF does not advise the committee to call it off, although a dog show planned for June 10 has been cancelled.
