IN-FORM Chaddesley Corbett remain unbeaten in the Banks's Brewery League Division One South since October 21 after a 1-1 home draw with Hinton.
The Longmore outfit could have been serious championship contenders if it not for their dismal early-season form.
And they produced an entertaining match on Saturday after an enforced absence from the village due to the foot and mouth outbreak.
Strikers Andrew Baylis and Chris Bow worked hard but failed to find the finishing touch and Hinton keeper Dave Spencer pulled off some excellent saves.
It was the home side who scored first when a Gavin Knight free-kick was expertly headed home by Ted Baylis.
Young Knight gave his best display to date for the club, causing problems for the visitors.
But Hinton equalised early in the second half after keeper David Batsford made a superb one-handed save but Craig Edwards nodded into the empty net.
Chaddesley kept trying for the three points which would have taken them into second place in the table.
Assistant groundsman Jamie Gardiner had done a superb job on the pitch after clearing away surface water.
Fixture, Saturday: Mahal FC v Chaddesley Corbett (League, players meet at Land Oak for 12.55pm).
Squad: Batsford, Baker, Homer, Ash, Pountney, Billings, Hodges, Kilgour, Jordan, Knight, E Baylis, Phillips, Burton, Bow, A Baylis.
