Foreman at the Redditch goods depot from 1914 until 1933, Mr E Hope has recently retired from British Railways after 45 years' service.
Mr Hope joined the old Midland Railway at Westhouses, Derbyshire, in 1906.
After his service in Redditch he went to Coventry.
On Friday at Curzon Street Station, Birmingham, he was presented with a case of pipes, a pouch and tobacco by Mr H Hipkiss (goods agent) on behalf of the supervisor and friends of Mr Hope.
Mrs Hope will be remembered in Redditch as an active worker at St Stephen's Church for many years.
