WORCESTER City are set to stick with their exciting young guns for tonight's Dr Martens League Premier Division game at Newport County (7.45).
Teenagers Wesley Joyce and Jamie Hyde are set for starting roles after playing major parts in Tuesday's Dr Martens Cup semi-final victory over the same opponents, Joyce scoring twice after coming on as substitute.
Goalkeeper Paul Wyatt may get another chance depending on the fitness of first-choice Danny McDonnell, who missed Tuesday's game with back spasms.
But manager John Barton has no qualms about putting the trio of 19-year-olds in again following their displays the other night.
He said: "We have four very young players in the side. A lot of young players can go up and down like a fiddlers' elbow, and they haven't had a lot of football as the reserve season this year has been all over the shop.
"Paul Wyatt did exceptionally well the other night - he was very positive in his game and positive in the decisions that he made.
"Jamie Hyde has had very little football but we have asked him to play in a position which involves more defensive responsibilities, but he was up for it and he did very well.
"Wesley was disappointed to be left out on Tuesday and there is nothing wrong in that. He has gone on in a position he hasn't been involved in too often, and he has responded."
City are still without winger Mike Wyatt (knee) and defender Andy Bradley (back). Steve Lutz could also return to the starting line-up following an impressive display as substitute on Tuesday.
City are hoping to strengthen their claims on fourth place in the table, but could be overtaken if they lose to a Newport side who will be gunning for swift revenge.
Another goal feast is expected at Spytty Park, with the last three meetings between the sides having produced a total of 23 goals.
City entertain bottom club Halesowen Town on Easter Monday (7.45).
