OVER-worked bosses are so exhausted they spend their time off in bed, according to a recent survey.
The findings by the Co-Operative's Business Direct revealed the internet was a major time-saver for bosses but when asked how they would spend time saved, a fifth opted for sleep.
Top of the list was taking a holiday, followed closely by more time with the family while 48 per cent would indulge in their favourite sport or pastime.
A fifth said they fancied slumping in front of the television, 18 per cent would shop till they dropped and a tenth would spend even more time surfing the net.
And a cheeky 13 per cent of bosses confessed to abusing the net, pretending to be working when surfing for holidays, gossiping or playing computer games.
Business Direct marketing manager Ryan O'Neill said as time pressures on businesses increased, new technology was proving to be a lifesaver.
"There is growing demand for 24-hour access to business accounts via the internet and 20 per cent of our customers now choose to bank online," he said.
"In today's busy world, with many managers so tired they want extra sleep, saving just a few hours a week in this way can really make a difference."
