A REPORT on controversial MMR jabs for youngsters could be debated by Worcester city councillors this month.
The executive board will decide later this month whether to invite Professor Brian McCloskey to speak to the council on Monday, April 30.
Prof McCloskey is the director of public health for Worcestershire.
Some parents fear the triple vaccine for mumps, measles and rubella triggers autism and inflammatory bowel disease, claims that have been disputed by Government scientists.
MMR jabs were introduced in 1988 and since then the number of children diagnosed as autistic has increased. But doctors in favour of the triple jabs say research suggests the vaccine is not the cause.
Although Monday, April 30, has been suggested as a date for Prof McCloskey's presentation, this would be the same evening as a talk by Neill Bucktin about the proposed South Worcestershire Primary Care Trust.
The executive board will decide whether to invite Prof McCloskey when it meets at the Guildhall.
