I DON'T understand what Richard Adams is driving at in his letter (You Say, April 5).
All MPs, regardless of their political persuasions, receive a paid full-time salary.
Why does he single out Labour politicians? Are Tories all giving their earnings back? I don't think so!
He implies that, as a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate who owns his own company, he comes from the real world. What world does he think everyone lives in? Why does he think he would be better qualified to be an MP than, say, a teacher or a nurse or indeed an ordinary company employee?
Gordon Brown must be one of the best Chancellors ever and, to my knowledge, has never run his own company. Is it necessary to have been ill to be a good doctor, or to have children to be a good midwife or teacher?
