MALVERN Town visit Bustlehome tomorrow (Saturday) (3pm) in the Banks's Brewery League Premier Division and Heath Hayes on Easter Monday (3pm) and will be hoping for better luck than in their previous two league games, which has seen Town concede last ditch goals.
On Saturday, they lost out at home to second placed Warley Rangers, turning the most likeliest of victories into the unlikeliest of defeats, having lead 2-0 after 75 minutes and 2-1 with just a minute of normal time left.
The previous Saturday, seventh placed Shawbury equalised in the final minute of a game Town had dominated throughout.
Town assistant manager Richard Anson said: "You have to remain philosophical and there would be little to achieve from going in and peeling the paint off the walls, which is always seen in football as the panacea for everything.
"In both games we have played very well against decent sides, created enough chances to have won comfortably, yet paid a heavy price for not taking our chances and failing to pick up in and around our penalty area at crucial times.
"But these are things we can put right and will be the focus of our attention over this weekends matches and beyond, certainly if we can repeat the quality of the last two performances and eradicate the mistakes, we will not go far wrong.
"It is important we look for maximum points this weekend, not just to continue our quest for a top five spot, but to also make sure we kick into a run of form that means we go into the Urn Final at the end of the month with our confidence high."
For this weekends games Town boss Joey Rawle will select from: Sanders, Higgins, Clayton, Cotterill, Damore, Dugdale, Davies, Sharma, Ward, Sollis, Ashby, Walker, Thomas, Slade, Shepherd, Phillpotts and Cannon.
Late signing
TOWN made one last ditch transfer deadline signing, when Robbie Leonard signed from County Sports.
A decision is likely to be reached on the outcome of Towns further appeal against leading scorer Andy Shepherd's pending 84 day suspension.
Shepherd, whose ban was originally upheld by the WFA on appeal, despite the Darlaston player involved in the same incident having his 84 day suspension thrown out by the Birmingham FA, will meet FA Officials in Worcester on 24th April.
Reserves/Youth
MALVERN Town Under 18's long awaited HFA 'Giantkillers' Cup tie at home to the highly rated Newport County youth side, takes place at Malvern next Wednesday (April 18) at 7.30pm.
The Newport side is amongst the strongest at their level in Wales and contains several players who play at Welsh FA representative level.
The Town youngsters would welcome as much local support as possible for what should be an excellent game.
Last Mondays scheduled league match at Gloucester City was postponed.
Town Reserves are at home to Bustlehome Reserves on Saturday (3pm) and will be hoping for better luck than last Saturday, when in common with their first team counterparts, created enough chances to have won comfortably, but instead suffered a suffered a likewise 2-3 defeat.
Debutant Robbie Leonard and Richard Jones were on target for Town.
