ATTACKS on his former partner in her home put 42-year-old Brian Watters in prison for a month on remand, Kidderminster magistrates have heard.
He had forced his way into the woman's home, threatened her, grabbed her by the hair, knocked a telephone out of her hand and punched her in the mouth, said prosecutor Paul Whitfield.
Police found her bleeding from an injury and she received hospital treatment.
Watters, of St Paul's Avenue, Kidderminster, admitted harassment and causing fear of violence.
The magistrates read one probation report, then called for more detail about his background and proposed treatment.
They bailed him to be back in court on April 26, and ordered him to stay out of Bewdley, where the woman lives.
Watters had never been in custody before and his four weeks behind bars were an unpleasant experience, said his solicitor, Fergus Maxwell.
He accepted that alcohol had played a part in the violence, because he had only been able to summon up courage to go to the house when he had been drinking.
He had recognised that the relationship, which had lasted for three years, was over.
