THE Studley car boot sale will go-ahead next month despite being delayed because of the foot and mouth crisis.
Organiser and farmer Jeremy Quinney, who has run the event for the past 14 years, expressed his sympathy for farmers affected by the crisis and told how his own family had been forced to cull animals for welfare purposes.
He said: "It is off for now as a precautionary measure but I'm waiting for news from MAFF.
"As far as we are concerned, it will go ahead in May if the field is dry."
Mr Quinney added: "We are very much in sympathy with people affected - we are slaughtering sheep ourselves because we can't move them."
The car boot sale in the Slough is the biggest in the Midlands and was last year voted the best in Britain.
The first sale of the year will be on May 6 if the field is dry.
