DROITWICH Spa schoolchildren are being enticed to class with hamburgers and chips - as part of a novel new scheme.
Westlands First School, off Farmers Way has teamed up with the McDonald's fast food chain.
Pupils who show achievement in citizenship and attendance will be rewarded with free nosh.
Beginning next Monday, the project aims to encourage punctuality and recognise positive behaviour among students who cannot resist a tasty treat.
The initiative has been organised by Worcestershire County Council's education welfare service and McDonald's Foregate Street branch, in Worcester.
Staff at Westlands have high hopes of the fast food strategy.
They also want involve other interested companies.
The county council's education spokeswoman Margaret Davies said: "I am delighted to be involved with such a novel initiative that has obviously been well planned.
"We are all looking forward to seeing the results.
"General opinion, including that of educationalists, is that this incentive might just work."
