REDDITCH captain Guy Muspratt says his side's return to the Birmingham Senior League will be a leap into the unknown after yet another reshuffle.

The old Division Two, which Redditch were relegated from two seasons ago, has been split into Eastern and Western divisions.

And with Worcestershire Clubs champions Redditch in the Western section, they will not be able to take on arch rivals Studley.

"We're going into unknown territory because we haven't played most of the sides we will be up against this year," said Muspratt.

"We've got a chance of a top half finish - this season will be a steadying process."

But the Bromsgrove Road side will have to do without the services of opening bat Dan Protherough after he broke a finger playing rugby for Droitwich.

Protherough is expected to miss the first month of the season which starts at Shifnal on Saturday, April 28.

Aussie bat Luke Wells has left the club but Muspratt is hoping to tie up another overseas star for the new season and the club have recruited Worcester Norton Taverners all-rounder Neville Entwhistle.

The opening pre-season friendly at Victoria Carpets and Blakeley Hall fell victim to the wet weather at the weekend and Saturday's trip to arch-rivals Studley (1pm start) also looks doubtful.
