THE Midland Combination Premier Division title is set to be decided at the Beehive on Saturday when BKL take on Nuneaton Griffs (ko 2.45pm).

Long time leaders Studley were knocked off their perch last week as reigning champions Griffs finally played their games in hand to lead the league by two points.

But wins over Coventry Marconi (4-0) and arch rivals Alvechurch (3-2) put the Bees back on top by a point on Monday.

Griffs play their game in hand at Feckenham on Wednesday and Bees boss Mark Chambers is hoping his cousins Clive and Mark Campion can do him a favour and mastermind an unlikely Millers victory.

"They haven't been playing too well of late so I'm not pinning my hopes on them," said the Bees manager.

"But if they can do us a favour I'll be grateful, whatever happens, it sets us up nicely for Saturday."

Studley are back to full strength for the title run-in and go into the championship decider buoyed by a tremendous second half comeback against Alvechurch on Monday, after trailing 2-0 at the interval.

Midfielder Brett Fleetwood is set to return on Saturday after a knee injury and Mark Neath and Trevor Whittington are pressing for recalls after being rested on Monday.

Striker Andy Grubb played for Sunday side Black Horse on Sunday and is set for another workout on Wednesday as he chases a first team return.

With Pershore, Romulus and Meir fading, Chambers says three wins will secure promotion to the Midland Alliance now ground improvements have been completed.

Nuneaton cannot go up because of their ground so a second place finish would be enough for Studley.

And Studley could have a shock promotion to the Worcestershire Senior Urn final after semi final conquerors Kidderminster Harriers are being investigated for fielding up to eight ineligible players.
