I SUGGEST the vice-chairman of Droitwich Spa Civic Society comes and lives by Salters' Shopping Centre to see how he likes to hear the screaming, shouting and swearing from gangs of young people on skateboards, roller blades, scooters, bicycles, or on foot every night of the week before he suggests we have a skatepark in Safeway's car park.
There is a bylaw in this town saying that none of the above are allowed.
The police say they are dealing with this problem but residents will tell you the problem is still as bad as ever. People who walk through the centre at night feel a threat from the gangs - no wonder we have no tourists in the town centre at night.
I had to close my restaurant in the evenings because of this problem.
I wish there was an answer to this problem because young people need to meet in the evenings.
