I WAS disturbed at the lack of information given in the document Your Future, Your County Council.
There was no mention of the costs associated with each option, nor was there any indication of the increase of full time salaried staff that each option envisaged.
The suspicion associated with this lack of detail is that these options act merely to enhance the status and pay of councillors who would become full time employees of the council, at the expense of the electorate.
How can the electorate give informed consent upon such matters when information is withheld in this manner?
The council has either not costed its proposals or felt it in its best interests to deliberately withhold such embarrassing information.
I do not know which condition would exemplify greater incompetence, negligence or arrogance - but I suspect I will end up paying for it anyhow.
