HARD-WORKING Lickey End youngsters have been praised after education watchdogs visited their playgroup.
Ofsted officials inspected Lickey End Playgroup, based at the Methodist Church Hall, in Alcester Road, and the group's three and four-year-olds came under the spotlight.
Experts said the venue was welcoming and caring and that good progress was made over most curriculum areas.
The report added that the children enjoy many worthwhile activities, work together harmoniously and share well.
Adult support was recognised and staff were commended for making good use of resources and encouraging youngsters.
The playgroup was congratulated for the quality and standards of educational provision and the children's progress towards early goals was good.
An action plan highlighted the need for staff to improve the management of assessment and the way it helps cater for individual needs.
Publicity officer for the group Liza Fellows said: "This was our first Ofsted inspection and we're really pleased with the results."
