A GOOD crowd turned out to welcome Worcestershire Cricket Club on a pre-season visit to Chester Road on Tuesday.
The county played Glamorgan in a 50-over friendly which was switched to Kidderminster Cricket Club from flood-hit New Road in Worcester.
Both teams were given some valuable match practice in Worcestershire's second game prior to starting the County Championship at Lords tomorrow.
They were close to full strength and the public were not put off by near-zero temperatures.
New overseas player Andy Bichel took the first wicket in figures of 2-43 and batted confidently for 33 runs.
A run-chase at the end made for an exciting finish but Glamorgan bowled well enough to keep the county to 183-9 after making 188-7.
Steve Rhodes scored 36 and Stuart Lampitt claimed 2-26.
l Indoor nets for Kidderminster Cricket Club's junior section are starting tomorrow.
Chester Road hosts the session from 6pm to 8pm.
