CHESS: Kidderminster gained a 4-1 victory over Wolverhampton in a Wolverhampton League home match, keeping the team on course for promotion to Division Two.
Terry Pountney has had a superb season for the club but he was beaten by Wolves' veteran campaigner Les Hesbrook.
However, the remaining players, led by captain Mike Kitchen, won their matches.

Though beaten 2.5-1.5 by Malvern Dolphins, Kidderminster Rooks reached the semi-final of the Worcester and District League Knock-out Cup.
The Division Two side, Rooks, were playing First Division opposition and had a 1.5 handicap added to their score.
