I HAVE had an unusual visitor to my bird table, on Tuesday, March 27 I was astounded to see a Snow Bunting on one of my bird tables.
In my own mind I was sure what it was, but checked in a book and low and behold I was right. Unfortunately I was the only one at home at the time, however on Saturday, March 30 my husband and my son saw it along with me. We all agreed that it perfectly matched the illustration in the book. Now I'm trying to decide if it was an aviary escapee or a migrant blown off course. Whatever the reason for its visit I'm glad that the local birds gave it long enough to have a decent feed before flying off. Now I'm waiting and hoping for another visit.
