Peopleton U-13 2, Welland 1

BEATEN in the cup semi-final two weeks ago Peopleton wanted to prove a point.

Welland had the advantage of the wind in the first half and took the lead against the run of play.

Peopleton were not downhearted and continued to play attacking football. This paid dividends and a through ball from midfield for Andy Lamb to run on to was calmly placed past the goalkeeper to equalise.

A stroke of luck in front of goal allowed Lea Miller the opportunity to place the ball in the back of the net for Peopleton's second.

In the second half Peopleton created several chances, but were denied any further goals through some fine saves and several goal line clearances.

Three minutes into extra time Welland were awarded a penalty. Matt Clements in goal denied Welland the equaliser to give Peopleton the three points and complete a league double over the visitors.

Drakes Broughton U-11 9

Moreton Rangers II 4

MORETON travelled to Drakes Broughton for a re-arranged league game.

The visitors started well, but conceded a goal from a well-taken corner. Jamie Winfield equalised with his first goal of the season. The home side went 2-1 ahead seconds before the break.

In the second half a disastrous period of defending resulted in Moreton conceding four quick goals without reply.

Joe Jarvis forced a goal in for Moreton, but they continued to concede goals to a spirited Drakes Broughton. Thomas Johnson scored a fine goal and Ben Turner finished well to give a final score of 9-4. Man of the match was awarded to Luke Jeffrey.

Vale Youth 5, Droitwich Boys 2

Vale entertained Droitwich and, as in the reverse fixture, Droitwich played very well in the first half and only trailed Vale by one goal on the half time whistle from Jimmy Phelps.

Just into the second period Droitwich equalised, but then couldn't live with Vale's skilful efforts and four quality strikes from Mark Bellamy. Droitwich got a late second, but went home well beaten.

Mickleton U-10 0

Littleton Juniors U-10 8

Littleton completed their league programme with an emphatic victory over Mickleton.

Littleton took the lead half way through the first half when Dan Keen's cross was stabbed home at the far post by Tom Cuthbert. In a rare Mickleton attack Sam Bastow made a good save to prevent an equaliser. On the stroke of half time Matt Taylor found Ben Johns in the Mickleton box and his deflected shot found the net.

Immediately after halftime Matt Goss forced his way through the defence to set Johns up for number three. Luke Lowerson then headed home Oliver Payne's cross/shot for number four and Littleton's 100th league goal. Payne then set up Ryan Clarke to make it five. Lowerson then helped himself to another goal after more good work by Goss.

Keen hit a super strike from the edge of the box before Clarke turned in Matt Smith's cross to complete the scoring.

Campden Town Lions U-10 3 Peopleton 0

CAMPDEN completed the season in style with a convincing win against their hard working visitors.

Campden took the lead when a quick throw in found Ford in space who crossed for Proctor to fire home. The home side created chances, but had to settle for a one goal lead at half time.

It was no surprise in the second half when the Lions increased their lead. Holloways corner took a deflection and found its way into the net.

Joe Godson rose above the defence following a corner to head home to round off an excellent display of football.

Tom Oberst playing his last game for the Lions was voted man of the match.
