Perrywood 3 Bishampton Utd 3
Bishampton recovered from giving away two early goals to share the points in a three all draw.
As early as the fifth minute, a Bishampton defender's poor pass was intercepted and the ball played through to Kevin Mathews who calmly went on to shoot past Rob Bille.
Another mistake by a defender saw Barry Ryall play the ball through to the unmarked Mathews. Although his first shot hit the post he followed up to knock the ball in from close range after only 20 minutes.
The remainder of the first half became dominated by Bishampton as they went in search of the goals, but it wasn't until five minutes before the break that they had something to show for their effort.
A strong run through the middle of the Perrywood defence by Greg Mason took him into the penalty area before passing the ball onto Stuart Hubball who shot into the corner of the goal past keeper Eddie Revell.
In the 51st minute, a fine run and cross by Darrell King down the right hand side enabled Matt Bicknell to head the ball down for Mason to sweep the ball into the net.
Ten minutes later Bishampton deservedly went into the lead when a Max Woodward pass sent Bicknell clear to steer the ball past Revell. It was now all Bishampton and more goals looked on the cards, with several chances created the best chance falling to Mark Taylor, who saw his first time shot turned away by Revell diving to his right.
Minutes later Bishampton were denied a penalty when a Perrywood defender used hands to stop a dangerous cross in the penalty area, but unfortunately the referee was unsighted and unable to give the decision.
Although under the cosh for most of the second half, Perrywood's defiance in holding Bishampton saw them rewarded when they scored the equaliser with 12 minutes to go. Steve Medley knocked forward a long free kick into the Bishampton area and, with no defender taking responsibility for the situation, Chris Daley had the simplest task to score unchallenged from close range and secure his side a point with the draw and leave the visitors wondering how they managed to let slip two further points.
On Saturday, Bishampon play Malvern Radar, kick off 2.30pm.
