WITH regard to the letter from prospective parliamentary candidate Mark Simpson (April 5 issue), when he says that a Conservative Government would review our health services. Well, as the Conservatives have no chance of forming the next government he is talking rubbish and just jumping on the bandwagon.
Who closed the children's ward and who introduced the PFI scheme?
As much as we regret losing our accident and emergency department and other services, we must now go along with the reorganisation of our health services.
Doctor G Summers and consultant physician Dr S Booth have told us that it is impossible to return A&E to Kidderminster.
Over £11 million is being spent on the new walk-in-walk-out treatment and diagnostic unit which will include a maternity department and renal dialysis, so this cancels out Dr R Taylor's comments that the downgrading is financially led.
Splits are already showing among Health Concern.
The 19 councillors are all independents and the only thing they have in common is the save our hospital banner.
Ron White has left them and Rachel Lewis seems about to do the same.
The Conservative group said that Dr Taylor's sincerity is admirable but any lone voice would not alter the decision of the Government.
As Dr Taylor would be on his own and the Conservatives will not be in government, it leaves David Lock to speak for us and, hopefully, improve services at our hospital.
We must go forward. The Tories can do nothing and a vote for Dr Taylor will leave the people of Wyre Forest in the wilderness for the next four or five years.
