A CHARITY shop which was floored by its roof falling in is now feeling sky high thanks to the generosity of Kidderminster carpet firms.
The Air Ambulance shop, New Road, Kidderminster, has been closed for three months because burst pipes caused the ceiling to collapse.
Now it plans to open within a week complete with new carpet supplied by the Kidderminster-based Carpet Foundation.
It ends a bleak period for the shop which raised a staggering £10,000 in its first three months for the charity, which airlifts accident victims to hospital, before disaster struck.
Shop manager Jean Matthews said: "It's wonderful that local carpet firms have come to the rescue - we are very grateful.
"The shop was doing so well, it has been frustrating having to close.
"However, we want to assure people they can keep donating items as we aim to open within a week."
The Carpet Foundation, which has been set up to boost the image of carpet, was given the donation for the cause by eminent town company Victoria Carpets.
Foundation marketing director Rupert Anton said: "The shop does tremendous work for an important service - it is a pleasure to help."
Meanwhile, Mrs Matthews is organising a fund-raising fete at Riverside Meadows, Stourport, on Sunday, July 22.
Anyone who would like a stall for the day or help at the shop can call her on 01562 754489.
