BROADWAY'S green is to become a hive of activity when the village holds a celebration of its young people in August.
Exciting things to do and trips are being planned for youngsters by Rev Ruth Mitchell of the United Reformed Church as part of the Celebration of Youth.
Each year the church organises lots of activities for young people aged between five and 16 in the summer holidays.
This year's event, however, is going to be different.
Mrs Mitchell said: "Instead of holding a week of activities in the church hall we are hiring a marquee for the village green and activities will run from August 4 to Sunday morning, August 12.
"The idea came from our community beat officer, PC Tom Iddon, to promote our young people and draw attention to villagers and visitors just how many of them live and go to school in the village."
The full exciting programme of events has not yet been completed, but will be on the theme of colours.
Arts and crafts, drama, stories and trips out, she said, would, no doubt, be included.
The event will culminate in a church service in the marquee on the last day.
Mrs Mitchell said: "Last year about 80 children a day attended.
"We are looking for adults with any spare time to help organise the events and supply us with more exciting ideas for sessions.
"We would also be grateful for any donations towards the cost.
"The organisers and the children will also be holding fund-raising events to raise enough cash to help cover costs."
Those with offers or help are urged to contact Rev Ruth Mitchell on 01386 853273 or Marion Moore on 01386 853715.
