PARISH COUNCIL: The main topic for discussion at the recent PC meeting was the handling of the foot and mouth outbreak at Bredon's Hardwick.
A letter was received from farmer William Dyer who reported that no trench had been dug and that blood poured through the field boundary from the carcasses and on to the main road.
Chairman, Derrick Grainger, asked the clerk to write in strongest terms to MAFF with copies to Wychavon District Council and Michael Spicer MP.
A report was given about the planning of the children's play area on the playing field.
New equipment, including a large unit for small children and a teenage meeting point are to be included.
The most expensive item will be the safety surfaces which are imperative under European laws.
An application for a grant from Wychavon is to be made soon.
Complaints were received that people were walking their dogs through the Jubilee field part of the playing field.
It was agreed that further notices to deter dog owners should be sited.
A request for anti-dog-fouling signs had been made for Westmancote where verges were reported to be in a disgraceful state. The next meeting, on May 14, will be the annual parish council meeting and the annual parish meeting is scheduled for May 21, at 7pm.
Several subjects for discussion including public moorings at the dock, the children's play area and a pedestrian crossing were put on the agenda.
Parishioners are invited to attend and to bring up other subjects which they would like to aired.
